Self Sabotage

Many of the things that go wrong for us are not the fault of ‘bad luck’ or ‘bad timing’. They are the result of our own actions.Everyone has goals and wants to improve their lot in life Self-sabotage is a very common behaviour and so ingrained in our beliefs and values that often we are not even aware that we are doing it. We set ourselves up for social, emotional and professional failure while at the same time telling ourselves that it is the only course of action we can take.

Ask yourself if you do any of the behaviours below.

  1. You get upset when people do not meet your needs; the ones you haven’t told them about.
  2. You are overwhelmed by feelings of rejection after the person who always rejects you does it again.
  3. You yell at your children to get them to stop yelling.
  4. You would put in much more effort if you knew you weren’t going to fail.
  5. You gossip about the biggest gossiper you know.
  6. You complain to others about being so sick of people who complain.
  7. You dislike your body after eating two pizzas and three jam donuts.
  8. You state that you’d work harder if they paid you more than the paltry salary you accepted when you took the job.
  9. You procrastinate because you have so much to do.
  10. You are angry because of obligations you didn’t refuse because you are too nice.
  11. You are more accepting of others when you believe you’re better than they are.
  12. You plan on being nice to a certain person just as soon as they are nice to you.
  13. You have no idea why other people can’t just see your point of view.
  14. You give and give, getting little in return; then complain about people taking advantage of you.
  15. You criticise yourself but hope others will approve of you.
  16. You are going to be more altruistic when you’re rich.

If you recognised yourself doing 1, 2 or even all the above you are a candidate for our personal coaching.
